Ask for more photos or a video

Use Chat to ask the seller for more photos or a short video. A seller cannot be made to send one.

Updated 2 min read For buyers

You ask for more photos or a video in the chat with the seller. Tap the quick message "Can you send more photos?" or write your own.

How to ask

  1. Open the item and tap Chat.
  2. Tap Can you send more photos?, or type what you need.
  3. Tap Send message.

The seller can reply with photos in the same chat. If the seller adds a video to the item, you will see it with the other pictures.

What to ask for

  • A close-up of any scratch, crack or damage.
  • The back, the sides and the label or model.
  • The item turned on and working.
  • The box, papers and extras that come with it.
  • A photo with a handwritten note that has today's date. This is an extra step some buyers like.

What a photo can and cannot show

More pictures can help you decide. They do not prove anything. Photos can be copied from somewhere else. The best check is to look at the item yourself before you pay.

Heads up

Be careful if a seller will not send any extra photo, avoids simple questions, or only wants to talk outside Zellany. These are warning signs, not proof. See How to spot a scam.

Sellers

If you sell, extra photos and a short video often answer buyers' questions before they ask. See Photos that sell.
