Updated 2 min read For buyers

To make an offer, open the item, tap Make offer, type your price in pesos and send it. The seller can accept it, answer with a different price, or decline.

Steps

  1. Open an item for sale or for rent that is not free. The Make offer button shows there.
  2. Tap Make offer.
  3. Type your offer in pesos, for example 13500. Add a short message if you like.
  4. Tap Send offer.

The offer appears as a card in your chat with the seller.

What happens next

  • The seller can Accept, Counter with another price, or Decline.
  • You can Take back this offer while it waits.
  • You can have one open offer in a chat at a time.
  • An offer that nobody answers ends after a while. Right now that is 48 hours. Staff can change it.
  • You can send up to 20 offers an hour.

When the seller accepts, you have an agreed price. It is not a payment. You still meet, check the item and pay in person.

Good to know

  • Type the amount yourself. Zellany never suggests one.
  • A very low offer may be declined by Zellany with a polite note, if it is under the lowest price the seller chose to accept. We never show that number.
  • If the item says "Firm price", the seller would rather not haggle. You can still send an offer, and the seller can decline.
  • An offer above the asking price is refused. It is probably a typing mistake.

Tip

Ask first, offer second. A polite message and a fair price get more answers.

More on both sides: Offers: counter, accept or decline.
