Chats and offers
Offers: make, counter, accept, decline
A buyer makes an offer. The seller can accept it, counter with another price, or decline. A buyer can take an offer back.
An offer is a price a buyer proposes in the chat. The seller can Accept, Counter with a different price, or Decline. The buyer can Take back this offer.
For buyers
- Open the item and tap Make offer, or open the chat and make one there.
- Type your price in pesos.
- Tap Send offer.
You can have one open offer in a chat at a time. You can send up to 20 offers an hour. See Make an offer.
For sellers
When an offer arrives, the card in the chat shows three buttons:
- Accept. The price is agreed. You can choose Accept and hold it for 24 hours to keep the item for that buyer.
- Counter. Type a different price. The buyer then sees a new offer card.
- Decline. The offer ends.
How long an offer waits
If nobody answers, the offer ends after a while. Right now that is 48 hours. Staff can change it.
If your offer is too low
The seller can set a lowest offer they would take. They keep it secret. An offer below it is politely declined for them.
After you accept
The chat shows a deal bar with the price. The next steps are in person:
- Meet in a public place.
- Check the item.
- Pay in cash.
Accepting an offer is an agreed price. It is not a payment. Zellany does not hold the money. See Does Zellany hold my money?.
If the plan changes
Tap Call it off on the deal bar. The other person is told, and any hold on the item ends. You can still chat and agree on a new price.
Notes
- Offers are in pesos. Zellany never suggests an amount.
- No fee is charged on a cash deal.
Tip
Answer offers soon. An old offer ends by itself.
