What Zellany staff can and cannot see
Staff see only what they need to help or to look at a report. Your phone, email and exact place are not shown to other people.
Staff do not read your chats for fun. They look at a chat only when there is a reason, such as a report, a safety check or a legal request. Your phone number, email and exact place are not shown to other people.
What other people see
- Your first name and the first letter of your last name.
- Your photo, your ratings and your items.
- Which checks you did, such as your email.
- Your area, such as the city.
They do not see your email, your phone number, your street, or your ID.
What staff see
- Reports. A report shows what was reported, why, and a few public numbers. It does not show a phone number, email, exact place or ID.
- Items and videos. Staff can see what is public. They look at an item or a video when it is checked or reported.
- Chats. Staff read a private chat only with a case: a report, a dispute or a legal request. We keep a record of every read.
- Helping you. When you ask for help, support can look at your account the way you see it. This needs a written reason. It ends after a short time and cannot change anything.
What staff never see
- Your password. We keep only a scrambled form of it.
- The code we email you. We ask no one for it.
What a push or an email never holds
Lock screens never show the item name, the chat or an amount. Emails never copy the words of a chat.
Photos
Chat photos are only given to the two people in the chat, through short-lived links.
