Fake, copied or misleading listings
Do not sell copies as real, copy another seller's photos, or say things that mislead. Report a listing that does.
Do not sell copies as the real thing, do not copy another seller's photos, and do not say things that mislead. Buyers can report a listing that does. Our team looks at reports.
What counts
- Copies sold as real. A bag, a phone or a watch made to look like a brand and sold as the brand.
- Copied photos. Pictures taken from another listing, a shop or the internet. Show your own item.
- Wrong or false facts. The wrong condition, model or size, or a claim that is not true.
- Pressure words. Phrases like "guaranteed" or "last unit" can mislead. They are not allowed in a property listing.
- Pretending. A fake profile, or pretending to be another person or business.
- Misleading price. A price that is a trick, such as a very low price to start a chat and then a higher one.
What is allowed
- Used items, if you say they are used.
- Honest photos that show marks and wear.
- Items made in the style of a brand, if you say what they are and do not use the brand to trick.
What we do
- Photos are checked while the photo check is on. A copied photo can put an item "Being checked".
- We look at reports and remove what breaks the rules.
If you are a buyer
- Look at the item before you pay.
- Ask for more photos or a short video.
- Report with the reason Fake or misleading, Counterfeit or Scam.
See How to spot a scam.
If you are a seller
Say what the item is, say if it is used, and use your own photos. If a brand owner says your item copies their work, see Intellectual property and takedown requests.
Tip
An honest listing sells better in the long run. Buyers remember who was straight with them.

How to spot a scam
Scams share warning signs: paying first, rushing you, odd links and prices that are too good. Warnings help, but they prove nothing.

Block someone so you stop getting messages from them. Report a chat, item or person so our team can look.
