Rules and policies
What you cannot sell
Weapons, illegal drugs, stolen goods, fake documents, copies sold as real, live animals, alcohol, vapes and more are not allowed.
Some things cannot be sold on Zellany. This is our current list. It is being reviewed and may grow.
Not allowed at all
- Weapons. Guns, ammunition, explosives and other weapons. Toys, water guns and glue guns are fine.
- Illegal drugs and things made to use them.
- Stolen goods. For phones and electronics we may ask for the IMEI or serial number.
- Fake documents and IDs. Fake IDs, passports, diplomas, licences and receipts.
- Copies sold as the real thing. "Class A" copies and counterfeits.
- Registered SIM cards, online accounts, and load or cash-in services.
- Adult services and adult content.
- Human organs and body parts.
- Wildlife and protected animals, or their parts.
- Live animals. Pet supplies are fine.
- Alcohol, vapes and tobacco.
- Medicines and health claims. Supplements and equipment are fine, but you cannot say they cure or treat an illness.
- Gambling.
- Easy-money offers. Investments, pyramid schemes and schemes that ask you to put in money first.
Needs care or a licence
- Services that need a licence. You show your licence number, and we mark it "Licence not verified by Zellany".
- Property and vehicles sold by dealers. Dealers sell under a Shop.
- Jobs. Applicants never pay to apply, and a job post cannot ask for a certain age, gender or looks.
- Overseas jobs need extra papers.
The full list is on the Community rules page. If an item needs a permit or licence by law, enter the number when you post. We may ask to see it.
How we check
A first check looks at titles and descriptions for obvious words, in English and Filipino. It is not perfect. People's reports and our team catch the rest. We never decide alone that someone is a bad seller.
If your post is stopped
You see a plain message that says why. See Why was my item removed or not posted?.
Illegal content you see
Report it. Child sexual abuse material is removed as fast as the law needs. See Child safety.
Heads up
This page explains the rules. It is not legal advice. If you are not sure whether something is allowed, ask a professional before you sell it.
