Selling

Why was my item removed or not posted?

Items are refused or removed when they break the rules. Open My items to see the reason, then change it or appeal.

Updated 2 min read For sellers

Open My items to find the reason. An item is "Not posted" or "Removed by Zellany" when it breaks the rules, when reports were confirmed, or when it did not pass a check.

Two different things

  • We would not post it. You tapped Post item and we asked for a change. The message says what to change. Fix it and post again.
  • Removed by Zellany. The item was live and our team took it down. It shows in the Removed tab with the reason.

Common reasons

  • The title or description has a word for something that cannot be sold, like weapons, illegal drugs, stolen goods, fake documents or copies sold as the real thing.
  • It sounds like a promise of easy money.
  • It has a link or email address on your first day.
  • A job post asks applicants to pay a fee, or asks for a certain age, gender or looks.
  • A property post shows a street number or unit number.
  • Alcohol, vapes, tobacco, medicines or live animals.
  • A photo that was copied from another listing.
  • The same item was posted twice, or two items share the same title.
  • Reports from other people were confirmed.

What you can do

  1. Open My items and read the note on the item.
  2. If it says "Not posted", change what it says and tap Post item again. An item can be sent again up to 3 times.
  3. If it says "Removed by Zellany" and you think we were wrong, tap Appeal. A person looks again and answers.
  4. Still stuck? Write to help@zellany.com. Tell us the item title and what happened.

Heads up

Paying for a Boost or a Shop plan never changes what is allowed.
