Add a short video (30 seconds)

You add a video on the Add screen, or later from your item. A video is currently 5 to 30 seconds long, and you write a short caption. A video can promote your item. It is not required.

Add a video while you sell

1. Tap Sell.
2. Tap Video.
3. Record a new video, or choose one from your phone or computer. See Record, pick and trim.
4. Edit it if you like. Edits are optional.
5. Write a short Caption of up to 150 letters. It also helps people who use a screen reader.
6. Tap Add video.

A caption is needed. It follows the same rules as item text: no prohibited words, and no links on your first day.

Add a video later

Open My items and tap Add a video on the item. You can also tap Add a video on the screen right after you post.

The numbers

• Up to 3 videos on one item.
• 5 to 30 seconds each (staff can change the length).
• Files up to 100 MB. We accept MP4, MOV and WebM.
• You can start 5 video uploads a day. On a new account's first day it is 2.
• You can have 20 live videos on your account.

After you add it

We check the video before others see it. It shows a status, such as Uploading, Checking or Live. See Why your video is "Checking", "Needs a change" or "Removed".

We re-encode the video to a smaller size and remove hidden data, such as where it was filmed.
