Trust steps: email, phone, ID and live photo
Checks show which steps a person has done, like their email. They are free, never for sale, and do not prove that someone is honest.
Checks are steps a person did to show who they are, like checking their email. They are free and never for sale. A check does not prove that a person or an item is honest.
The steps
| Step | What it means | Status today |
|---|---|---|
| The person typed a code sent to their email. | Works while email is switched on. | |
| Phone | The person typed a code sent by text message. | Not live yet. |
| ID and selfie | An ID-check company looked at an ID and a selfie. We keep the result, not the pictures. | Not live yet. |
| Live photo | The seller took a photo in the app. | Not live yet. |
| Trusted | A later step, not defined yet. | Not live yet. |
Business sellers can also show a Business label. It is automatic. Staff can check a Shop's papers later. The papers stay private.
Where to see them
- Yours: open Me and look at Your checks. Each line says Checked or Not checked yet, with a plain note.
- Someone else's: on their profile and on their items. Buyers see which checks the seller has done.
What a check means
- It means the person did that step.
- It does not mean the person is good, that the item is real, or that nothing can go wrong.
- A text message code shows a registered SIM. It does not show who the person is.
What a check is not
- It is not sold. No Boost, Shop plan or payment buys a check or a badge.
- It is not a guarantee.
Some posts ask for a step
Some departments ask for a step before you can post. We only ask for a step when something in Zellany can really do it. No one is blocked by a step that does not exist yet.
Tip
Do the email check. It is free, and it is how we send you important notes about your account.
