Zellany uses a place to show items near you. Use my location is used once, and it is rounded. You can always type a city instead.
Where a place is used
- Search and Browse. The place chip sets where you look.
- Home. "Near you" shows items close to your place.
- Posting. The place chip on About it says where your item is. It starts with the place you used before. Tap it to change.
- Your profile. Your city.
Use my location
When you tap Use my location, your browser or phone asks your permission. If you say yes:
- We use it once to show items near you.
- It is rounded, to about 1 km.
- We never show it to anyone.
On the website, the place you pick is remembered in your browser only. Not in a cookie.
What other people see
Your items show only the area, such as the city. A street or a pin is never shown. A barangay shows as its city on a profile.
Say no
You can say no to the permission, or switch it off later in your browser or phone settings. Then type a city or barangay in the place chip. Everything still works.
Change your place
Tap the place chip any time. Choose Anywhere in the Philippines to look at all items.
Tip
Your exact place stays hidden, so you and the other person choose a public spot to meet. See Meet-up habits.
